I put my faith in Jesus. Now, what should I do?
We exist to help all people from all places discover Christ, recover their identity, and uncover their purpose. In that mission, we emphasize that discovering Christ goes much deeper than being saved. So, what do you do after salvation? Listen to this short video from Pastor John, and find more information below.
Five consistent habits to develop as a Christian:
Pray
Prayer is how we connect directly to God. In this daily time, thank God for everything He has done, acknowledge Him throughout the day, and share with Him your problems, seeking His wisdom on what to do.
Study your Bible
According to 2 Timothy 3:16-17, all Scripture is God-inspired, meaning it comes from Him. It will never contradict His character and will always equip us for every good work. The difference between reading and studying your Bible is what you do with Scripture. Rather than simply reading the words, we recommend highlighting what stands out to you, writing down questions you may have, and journaling how you can apply what you read to your life.
Community
One of our values is authentic community. We believe this can be found through connecting with other believers and is available for all ages. Whether through our thriving small groups’ ministry, Deviate Youth, Dream City Kids, or our men’s and women’s ministries, we want you to get yourself around other believers who can encourage, uplight, and challenge you as you grow closer to God.
Discipleship
Discipleship is the discipline of moving yourself toward God. Dream City Omaha offers six, eight-week terms of discipleship classes throughout the year on important topics of our faith and stewardship. With the year’s calendar out, you can navigate your discipleship journey now.
Attend Church
Sunday services are when we gather as a body for corporate worship and teaching. We currently offer two services at 9 and 11 a.m. with our first service live-streamed online for those out of town.
Should I get baptized?
Baptism is our public declaration that we have gone from death to life. While baptism does not save us, it is the picture of what happens to us at salvation. Our old self has been washed clean, and we have gone from death to life.
We celebrate Baptism Sundays throughout the year. However, you can sign up now, and we will notify you when the next one occurs.
Should I be giving? If so, how can I give?
When it comes to giving, it’s important to remember what we learn in Matthew 20:28: Jesus came not to be served but to serve. As believers, we should also live to serve others. There are many ways you can do this.
Give by Volunteering
Volunteering in different parts of the church is crucial to helping the local church operate. As we each have been uniquely gifted, we are called to use those gifts for God’s glory. By finding a place to serve, we can give with our time.
Give Financially
In 2 Corinthians 9:6-7, Paul tells believers to give with a cheerful heart. He also says that those who preach the gospel should make a living off the gospel (1 Corinthians 9:14.) As Christians, we should give ultimately because He gave His life for us. This giving aligns our trust in God, sets our hearts in heaven, and supports the local church.
Give Your Testimony
Revelation 12:11 says, “they overcame by the blood of the lamb and word of their testimony.” When you share your testimony with others and share about how God saved you and brought you from death to life, you are sharing the gospel with someone and giving them the same message that saved you.
Ultimately, when it comes to giving, know that you do not have to be a Pastor to make an impact for God’s Kingdom. You only need to be willing and obedient to His Word. Then God will use you.
